In the 2015 draft the Chicago Bulls select Bobby Portis from the University of Arkansas.

Bobby Portis is exactly what the Bulls needed; high energy guy who can knock down the open shot. Bobby Portis wasn’t the SEC Player of the Year for no reason; the kid can flat out play. He’s very long and has proven to be a versatile scorer. He showed his offensive ability by knocking down 3-pointers and scoring in the post. Portis isn’t just all about offense either, as a 6’11 forward he’s shown to be a very good shot-blocker as well. Portis is known to do everything on the court well, may not be great at just one thing though. Portis’ strength is a concern going into his rookie year but his motor should cover up any physical weak deficiency he may have.

With a lot of the Bulls’ main targets taken earlier in the draft, Bobby Portis was a great consolation prize. He’ll mold right into Fred Hoiberg’s system with his ability to shoot from behind the arc. Who knows, we might actually be able to see him play this season.

Grading the Bulls draft pick: B+
