It doesn’t seem long ago when Reggie Rose would complain that his brother needed more talent surrounding him. Besides hardworking blue collar players, the former MVP didn’t have many talented teammates helping him in his quest to win a championship. Carlos Boozer was supposed to be that guy, but things just didn’t pick up for the former allstar.

“I think so, man. Who knows how good he can become? I just love his patience right now. He’s playing with unbelievable patience. He’s not rushing anything, he knows what he’s getting whenever he’s in the pick-and-roll or whenever he’s in the isolation. He’s reading everything the right way now.” Derrick Rose when asked if Butler is most talented teammate he’s had.

Fast-forward a few years ahead past the Carlos Boozer release, Pau Gasol signing, and the never-ending Rose-Butler beef last summer, it seems clear that Jimmy Butler is the guy Rose’s camp has been asking the front office to get for years. Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh all passed up on the chance to help Derrick Rose, but it seems Jimmy Butler just fell out of the sky and landed on the front office’s lap with a nice bow on top.

Jimmy Butler is averaging 22.1 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 4.0 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game. Butler is averaging the highest scoring total for the Bulls since Derrick Rose’s MVP season at 25 points per game.
