Since the hiring of Fred Hoiberg in the offseason, it was well documented a trade was looming in the near future. As the deadline approaches in the coming weeks, the time has come now for the Bulls to decide what their next move is in terms of trade one of their big men. According to Ric Bucher from his latest Bleacher Report video, the Bulls are shopping their top big men.

Trading away Joakim Noah or Pau Gasol could be beneficial if they fully intend on letting them walk in the summer of 2016, but it could be risky if they don’t have a proper plan in place to replace those big men via free agency. Without Gasol and Noah, the Bulls would be left with Gibson and Portis as possible players to take on the lead Center position. Gibson’s economically friendly contract implies that he’s most probably on his way out since he holds the most trade value between all three big men. While Gibson has grown into a fan favorite in Chicago, his replacement is sitting on the bench already being groomed in Bobby Portis.

The Bulls have had multiple reports rumored that they’ll be seeking an athletic small forward at the trade deadline. With Mirotic and McDermott taking a step back a few weeks after the season began, the Bulls are in need for a skillful wing player.
