Every year the Bulls talk about having a championship team, but almost every year they fall short to Lebron James no matter what team he’s on. The Bulls have been knocked out of the playoffs four of the last six seasons by Lebron James. Jimmy Butler once again is assured he’s on a championship caliber squad, but he’s tired of talking about it.

“You’re going to have to go through Cleveland no matter what. We say it every year: We think we can win a championship. Yada, yada, yada — you’ve heard it before. It’s time to stop talking. We have to make it happen.” – Jimmy Butler

The Bulls had a great opportunity last season as they were on the cusp of going up 3-1 to the Cavaliers in the playoffs. However, with just a few short plays going the Cavaliers direction, the Bulls lucked out of their opportunity to beat the depleted Cavaliers team. The task of taking down Lebron James has become tougher if Cavaliers can remain healthy, but the Bulls still feel they have a shot to bring down Lebron James.

With Pau Gasol’s player option dangling in his face next summer and Joakim Noah bracing himself for free agency as an unrestricted free agent, the Bulls might look a lot different next year, still unknown if it’ll be for the better or worse. For this particular squad, it could be the last chance at making a deep run in the playoffs before any major piece of the puzzle is removed.
