For a team that just won 50 games and did not make any changes to the roster, ESPN sure knows how to overlook a team. Marc Stein released his Power Rankings going into training camp which has the Bulls sitting in the 11th place right behind the Miami Heat. Stein did put a condition on the Bulls success which directly linked to Joakim Noah’s health.

“New coach, new court design, new pressure on Derrick Rose. All of that is certainly headline stuff in the Windy City. The reality, though, is that nothing is more key to success Fred Hoiberg finds as an NBA coaching neophyte than Joakim Noah. If Noah can return to an All-Star level, Chicago’s ceiling instantly rises.” Marc Stein’s prediction on the Chicago Bulls

It makes sense to link the Bulls success to the former Defensive Player of the Year, but Stein has three other eastern conference teams ahead of the Chicago Bulls. With a healthy Derrick Rose and a more developed Jimmy Butler, the Bulls are poised have major success this season if Fred Hoiberg lives up to the hype.
