The Chicago Bulls even up their record at 4-4 as the beat the win-less Dallas Mavericks 103-102 off a Doug McDermott game winning jumpshot.  The story going into the game was on one man, that man being Derrick Rose. As expected, Rose sported the clear mask to protect his face. With complaint of seeing double-vision, Rose decided to lace up his sneakers either way.

It was a much anticipated return of the former MVP, and it was well worth it. Despite being limited to just 10 minutes off the bench, Rose showed glimpses of quickness and athleticism. Rose scored eight points including a few acrobatic layups.

Tonight was kind of scary for my confidence. There are a lot of lanes and so many opportunities to drive. It’s open. I love it. I love the way Coach designed everything. He’s got me running downhill and catching the ball with a live dribble. We weren’t thinking about what we were running. We’d start with a pick-and-roll and then that opened up everything else.” – Derrick Rose

As Bulls fans finally exhale after watching Rose finish the game off injury-free, they can appreciate Doug McDermott’s fantastic game winner that finished off the preseason in the best way possible.
