The more changes that are being made to the Bulls, the more eyes are shifting towards Fred Hoiberg. However, in the case of Joakim Noah’s bench role, Hoiberg admits Noah was the one who initiated the idea.
“Jo actually came to me and talked to me about that. He said, basically, ‘I’ve always played well with Taj.’ He said he thought Niko and Pau played very well together, so let’s go that route. With Joakim Noah’s age finally catching up to him, his most effective way to help the team can only be done in spurts. Joakim Noah’s new role is focused primarily on defense and rebounding. Noah has yet to score in the regular season so far, but that’s the least of his concerns. In a limited role played with limited minutes, Noah’s energy and rebounding is all that is needed from the two-time Allstar.
