After Derrick Rose suffered a facial fracture from a blow to the face by Taj Gibson’s elbow, Rose will undergo surgery Wednesday morning. The Bulls won’t officially release timetable for Rose’s return until tomorrow. However, the Bulls are optimistic Rose will return for the season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 27th according to the Chicago Tribune.

Derrick Rose will probably sport the mask for a good portion of the season. The general return date for most players is between five to 28 games range for a facial fracture.
It seems Jimmy Butler’s wish to play the point guard position will be granted as Fred Hoiberg will look to make experimental changes to the rotation with Derrick Rose and Mike Dunleavy out with injuries.
