Tom Thibodeau and Jimmy Butler were spotted at Gibson’s Steakhouse in Chicago late Friday night. No. This is not an article trying to convince you of a theory where Thibodeau and Butler are planning a reunion in Los Angeles. However, it’s nice to see a player and a former coach keep in touch. A lot of reporters changed the Thibodeau saga narrative to players didn’t want to be around him. There could be some truth to it; but the media tried to paint Thibodeau into a player hating animal which he clearly is not.
It’s safe to say without Tom Thibodeau there is no Jimmy Butler. Some can argue Thibodeau molded Butler into the player he is today; a max player that is. Thibodeau’s voice of “do your job” will forever be engraved in his former players’ minds, but it’s refreshing to see Thibodeau’s effect on his players even after he’s gone.
