It’s official, Jimmy Butler is a maximum paid player after he signed a five-year $95 million offer sheet by the Bulls. After the free agency moratorium ended, the Chicago Bulls inked in Jimmy Butler’s contract as soon as possible. As everybody witnessed the past 24-hours, anything can happen in the moratorium period; including Deandre Jordan returning to the Clippers after agreeing to the Mavericks.

Jimmy Butler made a few things very clear in the press conference. For one, he let it be known that he doesn’t use emojis. On a more serious note, he waned to re-confirm with Chicago fans and Bulls nation that he loves Chicago and never wanted to leave, despite the false rumors Los Angles reporters tried to spread.

“Chicago is where I wanted to be. I love playing here. I love the city.” – Jimmy Butler

Butler then went on to address the Rose-Butler alleged feud. Which by all means is now considered a false rumor.

“I think we can play off each other well, especially with the offense we’re going to be running now.” – Jimmy Butler on Derrick Rose

Who knows, if Butler continues to improve and Rose continues to get healthy, the Bulls actually might have the best back-court in the league. Again, that’s assuming the stars align for the Bulls.

Jimmy Butler addressed the Fred Hoiberg signing and said he’s excited to play in his offense. Butler led the Bulls in scoring last season and could definitely benefit playing under Hoiberg. Butler looked gassed and exhausted by the end of the season playing under Thibodeau. It will be a complete change in mindset playing in a uptempo offense this season.

“I like our chances like I liked them last year. We just got to go out and get it and prove we’re the best team in the league.” – Jimmy Butler

Finally, that’s the quote we’ve all been waiting for. Butler, at least in his mind, believes the Bulls are a championship team. That’s all that matters in the end of the day. Butler didn’t talk about rebuilding or reconstructing the offense under Hoiberg, he expects to tie his sneakers, step on to the court, and compete for a title right away. That’s all Bulls fans want to hear, now it’s time for them to see it.
