After signing a three-year $14.4 million deal with the Bulls in the off-season, Mike Dunleavy Jr. announced he’d miss a couple of weeks due to back surgery. Those few weeks turned into a few months as the 6’9 forward has yet to make his season debut.

“It’s mostly conditioning, rhythm, timing. I haven’t played in a game since May. Overall, I feel really good. It’s been awful from personally. But I feel mostly bad for the organization, my teammates and coaches, not being there for them.” – Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Dunleavy hasn’t practiced since May 2015 which will require a longer period to get his conditioning back. Dunleavy started all 63 games he played last season with the Bulls and is highly considered to be the glue-guy. With the inconsistent play of Doug McDermott, Tony Snell, and Nikola Mirotic, the Bulls are hoping their long-term investment in extending Mike Dunleavy Jr. will pay off in his return.
