Jimmy Butler, the California summertime resident, came on ESPN First Take early Wednesday morning. Of course, a major topic of conversation was his alleged bitter relationship with Derrick Rose.
Butler seemed exhausted answering the question about Rose. Since the 2015 playoffs ended, Butler was ambushed with contract talks and false rumors about his relationship with the former MVP.
” I don’t think matters. If we win then this isn’t an issue. Since we lost, it’s an issue. I think gives ya’ll (media) something to talk about to tell you the truth. But if we win the championship, nobody is worried about any of that. The only reason it came up is because we lost. I don’t think we have any beef or whatever you want to call it. I think we just want to win, we didn’t so now we’re beefing and we have a problem with each other, I don’t think that’s the case.” – Jimmy Butler on Derrick Rose
There’s no secret Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose aren’t the best of friends. Butler went on record multiple times this summer saying he doesn’t hang out with Rose on his personal time like he does with other players. However, Butler made it very clear that it doesn’t affect their relationship on the court. On the court, they’re both trying to play their best to make the job easier on the other player.

Jimmy Butler still has a long way to go on improving his game according to himself. However, the growth he’s shown off the court has been tremendous over the past two years.
