Ever since Deandre Jordan stood up the Dallas Mavericks like a girl at the prom, Mark Cuban has been doing his best to piece a broken off-season together to help build a strong playoff contending team.
The Dallas Mavericks have put their eggs in the basket of Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee, but they’re still struggling to grab rebounds as they rank 19th in the league for total rebounds. With Chicago’s overloaded front-court headlining the Bulls trade rumors, they’ve still put the Bulls in the top three in rebounds in the NBA.
Since the beginning of the season, the Chicago Bulls were rumored to thin out their front-court sometime during the season to help fill holes in different parts of the roster.
According to Zach Lowe from his ESPN radio show called The Lowe Post, the Dallas Mavericks have shown strong interest in Joakim Noah. Ideally, the Bulls would try to pry Wesley Matthews away from the Mavericks, but seems more likely the Mavericks are shopping their overloaded point guard situation. With J.J Barea, Deron Williams, Raymond Felton, and Devin Harris all battling for minutes, it seems more likely the Bulls will be able to strike a deal to address the backup point guard situation that headlines Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks.
Joakim Noah is on the final year of his contract which will allow him to leave in the summer of 2016 for more money. As the Bulls demoted him to a reserve role, it seems Noah will look elsewhere to sign his last big contract of his career. Any trade made for Joakim Noah would be for the future moving forward. Brooks, Hinrich, and Moore are all on expiring deals as well.
